2009 L'Intruse Mourvèdre, The Intruder
Our 2009 L'Intruse Mourvèdre, The Intruder, exhibits a hint of herbal notes in the nose, common to Mourvèdre, and subtle bright red fruit underneath. On the palate, this wine exhibits blackberry fruit with a hint of truffles. An underlying red berry fruit flavor comes out in the back of the palate creating a long sustained finish. Enjoy this wine over the next 5-7 years with a variety of foods from heavy red meats to barbeque to meals with Asian spices.

Accolades & Awards
"Aromas of cherries, raspberries, and boysenberries meld with suggestions of spice and game on the nose. Flavors of cherry, currant, and raspberry come together with notes of white pepper, leather, and minerals on the palate. A dry, heartier wine, fans of fairly robust, spicy reds must try this wine. 185 cases were produced."

"A blend of 87% Mourvedre, 12% Syrah, and 1% Grenache that spent 18 months in neutral French oak, the 2009 L?Intruse has a bright, slightly volatile profile, with plenty of berry fruit, wild herbs, roasted meat, and pepper aromatics. This leads to a medium to full-bodied 2009 that has a voluptuous, glycerol filled texture, ripe tannin, and a broad, chewy finish. It is well done and should drink nicely for 5-8 years."
