2009 Alder Springs Syrah
Our Alder Springs Syrah exhibits the cool climate characteristics that Alder Springs Vineyard can exhibit in certain years and the 2009 vintage clearly brings the "cool climate" characterists out. Our 2009 Alder Springs Syrah wine has a purple huge common in high-elevation fruit with dark berry fruit and a hint of herbal notes on the nose. Cherry and dark berry fruit dominate the palate with a hint of herbal notes on the nose. Our entire lot comes from the Emerald Pool block with the French ENTAV Clone 174 that we share with Arnot-Roberts and Donelan Wines. Multi-layered in the mouth, this cool climate syrah has the depth and structure to enjoy over the next 8-10 years.

Accolades & Awards
Aromatics of bramble fruit, game, and spice rise up from a glass. Blackberry, cherry, and boysenberry flavors are accented by suggestions of smoked meat, vanilla, and pepper on the palate. A rich, layered Syrah, with a lovely balance of fruit and spice, it's an excellent expression of the variety.
