2008 White Hawk Syrah
Santa Barbara County
At first sight, you notice the deep, dark color of the wine as the White Hawk Vineyard typically produces small berries giving us a good skin-to-pulp ratio aiding in the color extraction in the wine. On the nose, our 2008 White Hawk Vineyard Syrah wine projects the bright blue fruit notes and white pepper spice that this vineyard is so known for. The fruit is dark on the palate at first with a hint of herbal notes providing structure under the dark velvet layer of fruit. In the glass the wine opens up and show more elegance on the nose while providing a powerful focus and finish. Cellar this wine for 1-2 years and enjoy it for 8-10 more years.

"Tight black, red and blue fruit aromas, with complements of earth, pepper spice and oak. If allowed to breathe this wine opens-up well, displaying rich fruit and secondary elements in a firm but rounding finish."
